The EV6 is a dashingly sporty small crossover with loads of space, a cabin with European flair, admirable road manners, plenty of pep, up to 2,300 pounds of towing capacity, ultra-quick charging capability and tons of tech. If the EV6 were real estate, “all mod cons” would only start to describe its wealth of infotainment, driver assistance and safety systems content.
Kia’s new EV6 is definitely one to keep your eye on. It boasts great looks, impressive performance, and solid range. But it also adds a “vehicle-to-load” function that allows motorists to draw power from its battery pack, whether at work or a campsite — or simply to keep appliances powered up during a blackout.
The Kia EV6 is surprisingly engaging and competent. I spent hours hurling it into corners on California mountain roads, searching for the threshold — which you can reach easily on many Kia combustion cars — where the car would put a foot wrong, get uncomfortable or start to squirm a bit. It never happened
